Department of Fish Biology and Biotechnology has started its journey through the establishment of Faculty of Fisheries in 2012. It has become an important department under the Faculty of Fisheries. The Vision of this department is to play a social role by meeting the demand of fish protein through the increase of production by sophisticated research and applying modern biotechnological applications.
The department offers different courses (25 credits) at undergraduate (B. Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) and along with teaching activities, faculties of this department also engaged with research, consultancy and other extracurricular activities.
The aim of this department is to produce competent fisheries graduates and also develop a center of excellence for education, training and research in the field of fish biology and biotechnology. This department is engaged in generating sustainable breeding technologies for different exotic and indigenous species and establishing proper management technique for revival and conservation of different vulnerable and critically endangered species with applied molecular techniques. This department is located at 1st floor of the new academic buildings of CVASU.
