Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To provide moral and social support to students and work with their families if needed.
  2. To prepare plan and execute programs for the holistic development of the students.
  3. To arrange for a good-natured environment on the campus.
  4. To monitor day-to-day essential support required for academic and co-curricular activities of students.
  5. Act as a mentor for students at-risk and empower them to make informed life choices.
  6. Work with the student support team of the university for early identification, case management, and proactive measures.
  7. To arrange for special care for the weaker and needy sections of students.
  8. To enable students to participate effectively in the student’s related activities.
  9. To work with the conveners of various committees Viz., sports and cultural committee, mandatory committees, anti-ragging committee etc.
  10. Respond to emergency situations from students who are experiencing mental health crises.
  11. Develop communications with the alumni and establish a relationship with current students to the alumni.
  12. Any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the role

 
Health Facilities in CVASU

  1. Consultation and prescription services from the general physician on weekdays (9:00 am-7:30 pm)
  2. Residential Medical Officer for 24/7 hours of medical attention and on-call medical services in an emergency case on the university campus (DR. Kachisree Saha, MBBS, Residential Medical Officer)
  3. Specialist medical treatment on skin and venereal disease from DR. Quazi Roksana Sultana, MBBS, MPH (CVASU), PGD (Skin and VD), Deputy Chief Medical Officer. 
  4. Specialist medical advice on Radiology and Imaging from DR. Mohammad Riyadh, MBBS, CCD (BIRDEM), PGT (Radiology and Imaging), Senior Medical Officer 
  5. Trained staff nurse for medical care and attention. 
  6. 24/7 hours of ambulance service (Call: 01997005000). 
  7. Hospital bed for day-long stay and sit for examination on weekdays
  8. Common medicines including some antibiotics
  9. Glucometer (strip-based measurement of blood glucose)
  10. Nebulizer (Nebulization for all ages)
  11. Measurement of the oxygen saturation level of blood using a Pulse oximeter and measurement of  blood pressure using a Sphygmomanometer 
  12. Oxygen Cylinder for immediate support to the hypoxic patient
  13. Height, weight, and BMI measurements with medical advice.
  14. Year-round pre-exposure Rabies vaccination programs 
  15. Community health information, health security, and maintaining a clean and healthy campus (Mr. Md. Shahadat Hossain, Senior Health Instructor)
  16. Diagnostic facilities in Parkview Hospital at a discounted rate.
  17. Diagnostic facilities on a group basis at a discounted rate in the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology with a prior appointment.

         
 Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities in CVASU

Extracurricular activities aid in self-discovery, skill development, and context-specific application of knowledge and abilities. Getting active in sports groups, societies, and volunteering is a wonderful way to make new friends, have fun while attending university, and maintain a good balance between studying and your social life. By providing you with a tonne of real-world examples to utilize in job applications to highlight your abilities, it will also help anyone become a stronger candidate for graduate positions. All employers are looking for recent graduates with a variety of abilities, traits, and experiences that will make them successful employees. You have the opportunity to practice these abilities through extracurricular activities while doing something you enjoy. The best chance to have a good time while also improving your employability is right now. There may frequently be various groups for people of various skills, such as distinct sports clubs for people who want to play competitively and for others who want to participate more socially or for fitness.

CVASU Debating Society (CVASU DS)

Benefits of a Debating Society

Debating society offer a number of benefits to students, including:

  • They help students develop their critical thinking skills.
  • They teach students how to research and present information effectively.
  • They help students build confidence and public speaking skills.
  • They provide students with an opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities and backgrounds.

CVASU DS (Activities and Goals)

The CVASU DS Debating Society would host a variety of debates, including formal debates and mock trials. The debating society would also offer workshops on topics such as research, public speaking, and debate strategy. Additionally, members of the debating society would participate in national and inter-university debate competitions.

 

The debating society’s long-term goals are to:

  • Promote the art of debate at CVASU DS.
  • Provide students with an opportunity to develop their critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive community for students who are interested in debating.
  • Bringing the champion title to the CVASU Committee Structure and Budget.

Chattogram (former Chittagong) Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is a unique specialized university in Bangladesh aimed to produce quality graduates in Veterinary medicine, food science and technology and fisheries. From the inception of then college named Chittagong Government Veterinary College and later Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, authority is committed to ensure a congenial academic atmosphere in the faculty and among the faculties. This leads to building up a student with full of morality, punctuality, and responsibility. We believe every student has the potential to be a future leader in their respective profession. Student welfare encompasses the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of students. The Director (Student Welfare) (DSW) provides social support to the students which may include working with their families and other community partners to address barriers to learning and strengthening the safety net for these students.
