Md. Emran Hossain is a Professor of Animal Nutrition at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Khulshi, Chattogram-4225, Bangladesh. Since July 2003, he has been actively engaged in academic instruction, mentoring MS and PhD students, conducting research, fostering innovation, and contribution to the extension services. His research portfolio spans a broad array of interdisciplinary studies, with a particular emphasis on multivariate mixed modelling, gut health, gut barrier function, regulation of tight junction proteins, efficacy of functional feed additives, lactation dynamics, reproductive efficiency, welfare optimization, and least-cost feed formulations for sustainable dairy and poultry production.
Mr. Hossain has led numerous pioneer research initiatives aimed at advancing scientific understanding and practical innovations in the tropical livestock production systems. His cutting-edge research has significantly contributed to improving livestock nutrition, health, and overall farm productivity. With over 97 scientific publications in the esteemed peer-reviewed journals, his contributions underscore a broad commitment to the evidence-based advancements in animal nutrition sector. His work continues to shape tropical livestock farming by optimizing productivity, welfare, environmental impact, and long-term economic resilience ensuring sustainability and efficiency in the modern animal agriculture system.
