Shahneaz Ali Khan, graduated on Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Chittagong University and then completed MPhil on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Then Dr. Khan moved into Eco Health Alliance, (New York, USA) as a research scientist to measure the impact of Nipah virus in fruit bats and its implication in livestock health. Thereafter, Khan launched his career in Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, where he began to enrich his expertise and continuing collaboration with Eco Health Alliance and other collaborators (FAO: Food and agriculture organization, ICDDR,B: international center for diarrhoeal disease research, Bangladesh). He joined in the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University as a Lecturer in 2008 and continued this position until 2011. Currently, he holds as an Assistant Professor position in the same University. Since then, he has been involved in avian influenza research with collaboration with Scientist from Australia and Bangladesh. Khan has completed PhD degree from Queensland University of Technology under Professor Peter Timms on Chlamydial vaccine development in koalas. Khan has a very strong record in research in his area that includes a number of papers in the peer reviewed journals such as Vaccine, PloS one, Mbio, PLoS pathogens, EID and Preventive Veterinary Medicine. Khan has received a number of grants such as WWCT Award, by Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, UK (2010); Columbus Zoo Conservation Fund, USA (2011);University Grant Commission Research Award through CVASU (2011).
