Dr. M. Nurul Absar Khan received B. Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) and MS in Fisheries Technology degrees from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymnsingh and then he received PhD degree from Pukyong National University, South Korea in 2007. Dr. Khan also attended the Post-Doctorate fellowship program in Pukyong National University, South Korea in 2008. In his professional career, at first Dr. Khan joined as Part-Time Lecturer in March, 1997 in the Department of Fisheries Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh and then joined as Lecturer in June, 1998 in the same department where he served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor till 26 February, 2013. In 27 February, 2013 Dr. Khan moved from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh to Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and joined as Professor in the Department of Fishing and Post-Harvest Technology.

In February, 2013 Dr. Khan became the Dean of Faculty of Fisheries, CVASU, Bangladesh and serving in the same position till date.

Dr. M. Nurul Absar Khan is a renowned scientist possesses a strong academic and research background. In his professional arena, he has been awarded with many national and international research grants and published more than 50 manuscripts that includes a number of internationally reputed scientific articles. His research interest is on Seaweed biotechnology, biofuel, bioactive compound isolation from aquatic organism.
